Bonjour Everybody. It's Friday
once again and the beginning of another weekend. The year is flying so
fast for my liking but I think I'll cope. Anyway I'm still on the
African print project with pistis. It's a Vlisco fabric with a pinch of chiffon to set the whole dress on fire! Vlisco
originated in Holland and was
founded in 1846 by Pieter Fentener van Vlissingen. Fast forward to the
21st century and staying true to their aim of producing and selling
hand printed fabrics in- and out of the Netherlands, Vlisco has become
the very sweetheart of every African woman in terms of fabrics and prints. I personally love Vlisco
because of the connection I had with it whiles growing up. My mum would
rock her Vlisco in stylish kaba and slit, then and now Vlisco stood for affluence and
prestige. Mummy would always ask me to learn hard so I could buy her a
Vlisco Hollandaise. She'd cover me with her one yard Vlisco fabric and
they always felt comfortable. This Vlisco dress by pistis got me very
emotional when I wore it. As usual I'm wearing some amazing Gucci shoes. The
yellow ankle strap color blocks and matches my fabric in so many ways.
I'm not doing so many accessories today because of the rich Vlisco and
chiffon fabrics. Just my Michael Korrs watch,my bracelet and ear loops.
As we'll say in Dutch tot ziens (it's Dutch for bye-bye). Love you all. |
So pretty love the colors
